Why Is It Necessary That Your Company Complies With Dangerous Goods Transportation Regulations?

If you are in the manufacturing sector there is a very good chance that part of your business has to do with the transporting of dangerous goods. Proper compliance labeling of any products is so important as your company could end up with some very hefty fines along with a large stoppage of goods that are needed to continue operating business. With a interruption in supplies your business could be in trouble.

Even if your company has been in compliance from day one there is always a chance of a regulation change and if you are not up to date on the changes you could find yourself in having to deal with the consequences.

Following are some steps to follow and if anything you can refresh your own internal procedures to adhere to current regulations.

  • Review and make updates of existing processes if necessary especially those that have a high likelihood of leading to regulatory compliance issues
  • Determine dangerous good processes not currently detailed, documented or implemented consistently across the organization including all groups such as EH&S, logistics and warehousing.
  • Identification of practices to put in place along with updated procedures in order to reduce the likelihood of shipments and carrier rejections.
