For this reason the higher rated protection can be calculated much easier as you are dealing with single layer items and you know the assigned ATPV cal arc rating they are good for.
The problem with this option is that it is more of a chore to get the garments on when they are to be used just for a short duration compared to a coverall that can just be slipped on and is more convenient to wear all the time if need be.
